My 13th Birthday Party

Last August I had my 13th birthday party. It was really fun; first we went swimming. After that we drove back to my house and had a shaving cream war. We sprayed each other we different types of shaving cream. We were all completely covered in shaving cream. Next we tied glazed donuts on a string hanging from our swing set. We had to try to jump and eat them without using our hands. It was really difficult to eat the donuts because they started to swing on the string. Later we played truth or dare pop. It is where you have to pop a balloon and see if you got a truth or a dare. Finally when it got dark we had to look at clues a find puzzle pieces outside. My birthday day party was really fun.

My Bottled Up Memory

A memory that I would bottle up would be when I stood with my two sisters Ella and Claire in front of the Disney World Castle because I never want to forget how we stood there together. Claire, Ella, and I stood in front of the castle while my dad and my mom took pictures of us. It was the second time we went to Disney World, but it is so special because the whole trip all we did was have fun as a family.

Claire's First Volleyball Tournament

Claire's first volleyball tournament is this Saturday. I am so excited to go to her tournament; for a gift for her fist tournament I made her a bow that matches her uniform. It is white with blue zebra stripes. She was ecstatic when I gave it to her. I hope her team does really good. She has been working really hard on her over-hand serves, so if she gets a chance to serve I hope they all go over the net. I don't know what kind of teams they are going to play, but I wish they would get first place. Her tournament is at Seckman High School; last year my volleyball team played there too. I think that her team will do very well at their first tournament.

Veteran's Day vs. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On Veterans Day we have to go to school, but on Martin Luther King Jr. Day we don't. I feel that Veteran's Day is just as important as Martin Luther King Jr. Day because it honors all of our veterans that fight for us in wars. I believe that school should be out on both days in order to honor all the veterans in the United States and to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

The White-Nose Syndrome

The white-nose syndrome has hit eastern U.S. and Canada pretty hard. Six million bats were killed from the white-nose syndrome so far. In the Long Cave (1.3 miles long) scientists discovered the white-nose syndrome. The syndrome has also been found in Mammoth Cave (390 miles long). A Mammoth Cave National Park official stated that "A northern long-eared bat showing symptoms of white-nose syndrome was found in Long Cave in the park." The white-nose syndrome causes hibernating bats to behave abnormally and fly out of the cave when the Sun it out. This syndrome is spreading fast and they hope that they can contain it.

Second Volleyball Tournament

I am so excited for my second volleyball tournament this weekend because I love my volleyball team. We had so much fun at our first tournament, and I can't wait until this Sunday. We are playing in Perryville against     different teams than last tournament. I hope that we all do well, and I also hope we get a medal.

Dear Mrs. DeBolt:

I am 13 years old, and I love to play soccer and volleyball. I play select soccer for Ajax Elite F.C. and I play select volleyball for J.C. Crush. My favorite food is pizza, but I also like nachos. In the little free time I have, I love to read and draw. I also enjoy playing Sims 3 on my laptop.

My favorite book series would have to be the Maze Runner. I have read all the books in that series, and I loved them. I wish they had not ended so fast. Right now I am reading the Twilight series; I am on the second book New Moon, and it is really good so far. I have also read the Hunger Games series; I enjoyed it a lot too.

I have had quite a bit of experience with computers because my dad has taught me a lot about them. I know a little on how to edit pictures, but I would love to learn more. I have used the programs Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel. I have my own laptop that I do school projects with like essays for writing.

The Girl In The Mirror

The picture with the girl in the mirror reminds me of when I was little because I used to watch Mulan all of the time. In the movie she would sing a song about her reflection in the pond, and I feel that the little girl is feeling the same way that Mulan did. As if she is not sure who she is because she is confused.

First Volleyball Tournament

This past weekend I had my first volleyball tournament  of the season. In pool play, we won three games and lost three games. So we were put in the silver bracket. We ended up getting third place because we lost to a team named Team Elite St. Louis. They had really good outside hitters, so their spikes were hard to block. We only lost by a couple of points each set. I still think we did pretty good for our first tournament together.
